Meet Makeda
Caring Like Family
Makeda Morris-Holness started out as a beautician in Jamaica. One of her neighbors, an elderly woman, would only let Makeda comb her hair, and she asked every time Makeda walked by. That’s where Makeda’s love for caring for older adults began.
The work became personal through her grandmother, whose dementia left her vulnerable. When Makeda moved to the United States, caregiving was one of the first jobs she found. Her mother cheered her on from the beginning and helped inspire her to open I Care.
Today, Makeda has more than 10 years of caregiving experience. She attended CNA school in Calhoun, holds BLS certification, and has training and experience in dementia care. She still cares for clients in their homes. She invites feedback from families, and if they have a concern, she takes care of it herself. At I Care, every client gets the kind of care Makeda would want for her own mother.
In Loving Memory
Pamela Elaine “Pam” Campbell
My mother was part of my caregiving journey from the beginning. Even when I left for work at five—which was four in the morning where she was—she would be awake, keeping me company until I reached my patients.
She was my listening ear, my encouragement, and an inspiration behind opening I Care. Her love remains at the heart of everything I do.
Mom, thank you for being there from the start. I carry your love into every home I have the privilege to serve.
Forever my mother. Always part of my journey.
